  • Summer Reading Club Desk Volunteer

    Summer Reading Club Desk Volunteer

    Location:

    McCormick Branch

    Timing:

    • July 6 – August 15, 2026
    • Volunteers will be needed for approximately 10 hours per week to cover daytime, evening and weekend shifts
    • Estimated Start Date: July 6, 2026, with 1-2 additional training dates prior to start date
    • Estimated End Date: Saturday August 15, 2026

    What You’ll Do:

    • Provide information about the summer reading club to children and families.
    • Assist customers with program registration.
    • Handout incentives and prizes.
    • Promote the Summer Reading Program and encourage participation.

    Your Impact:

    • A Summer Reading Club Volunteer will provide a dedicated focus on this important program and give children and families a consistent person to share their reading journey with.
    • This is an opportunity for volunteers to support library services and foster a love of reading and connection with library collections and services.

    What We’re Looking For:

    • Someone who is enthusiastic and enjoys children
    • Candidates that are comfortable chatting with families
    • Responsible and reliable applicants, who can commit to and fulfill the hours required for this position
    • A team member who will enjoy working at the library

    A police check is not required for this position.

    References are required.
