International Women’s Day on March 8 is a global celebration of the social, economic, cultural, and political achievements of women. It’s a day to recognize and reflect on the challenges women face, to amplify their voices, and to take action towards a more inclusive and equal world.

  • Accelerate Action: Agents of Change

    This dynamic event, centered around the theme “Accelerate Action” – a call to empower women and drive meaningful progress toward gender equality – will bring together influential leaders, entrepreneurs, and community members to explore the ways in which women are changing the world and accelerating progress in their fields. From health innovation to policy advocacy, small business growth, and leadership, this gathering will showcase the incredible contributions women are making across diverse sectors.

  • African Women’s Alliance of Waterloo Region

    The mission of the African Women’s Alliance of Waterloo Region is to promote African culture and heritage to members of the African community and the general populace in Waterloo Region through educational and social activities.

  • Canadian Arab Women’s Association

    The Canadian Arab Women’s Association fosters a supportive and inclusive community among Arab women in Waterloo Region and Guelph.

  • Coalition of Muslim Women

    The Coalition of Muslim Women works to empower racialized Muslim women and girls to be leaders and changemakers by bridge building between Muslim women and youth and the larger community.

  • Fashion Reimagined Film Screening

    Celebrate International Women’s Day with the Zonta Club of Kitchener-Waterloo with a special screening of Fashion Reimagined and guest speakers.

  • International Women's Day Breakfast

    The Annual International Womens Day Breakfast is held in partnership between the Greater Kitchener Waterloo Chamber of Commerce and respected community leader Karen Redman. This annual breakfast aims to celebrate all that women have done in our community and around the world.
