Scrubbing Away Beauty Standards
About the Program
As we approach the end of the year, we'll take a moment to reflect on the beauty standards that stood out in 2024, as well as those from the past. We'll explore why these ideals might not be realistic or healthy. The central theme of our program is that beauty is subjective—a key message for tweens to understand. Additionally, we'll highlight the importance of self-care, and participants will have the opportunity to create their own lip scrubs to take home.

Will you make it through the mystery mansion? Make your way through the escape room in this exciting program for super sleuths. Bonus spy activities for those who make it through the escape room before the end of the program.
Duct Tape Maker Workshop
About the Program
Have you ever wondered what you could create with an hour and an entire roll of duct tape? We’re happy to help you answer that question! We will provide templates for a variety of items to make or you can come up with your own creations. Each participant receives one roll of duct tape.

WPL Family Feud for Kids
About the Program
Inspired by the popular TV show, participants will be encouraged to work in teams to guess popular answers to fun questions (eg. What are some vegetables that do not taste that great?). Instead of a live audience determining the answers, WPL programmers will be submitting in their opinions!

Perler Party: Keychain and Magnet DIY
About the Program
Get creative making Perler bead creations and turn them into keychains and magnets to take home. All materials will be provided.
3D Cardboard Art

Using paint, glue, and paper towel rolls, children will be encouraged to tap into their creativity and imagination as they build a colourful sculpture on a cardstock paper base.

Encourage a love of reading with this fun, interactive literacy program. Participants will pair up with a volunteer literacy tutor for guided reading sessions followed by language games and activities with the group.
