Ontario Volleyball Championships at RIM Park – What to Expect at the Eastside Branch

The Ontario Volleyball Association’s Ontario Championships are returning to RIM Park this April, bringing thousands of athletes, coaches, and spectators to our community. As the largest youth amateur volleyball tournament in the province, this event is an exciting time for Kitchener-Waterloo.

With the increased activity in the area, we want to make our customers aware that parking at the Eastside Branch will be significantly impacted during tournament times. Off-site parking and shuttle services will be in place for tournament attendees, and by-law officers and off-duty police will be managing traffic around RIM Park.

The library will have 20 designated parking spaces in front of our building; however we anticipate the availability of these spaces to be limited. We encourage customers to visit the Eastside Branch between tournament dates or to plan for alternate transportation to the library. The library is accessible via Grand River Transit Route 202 iXpress bus, which stops directly in front of the building. We also have ample bike racks available at our main entrance or back entrance.

The Ontario Championships will take place on the following dates:

  • Friday, April 4 to Sunday, April 6
  • Friday, April 11 to Sunday, April 13
  • Thursday, April 17 to Saturday, April 19
  • Sunday, April 20 to Tuesday, April 22
  • Friday, April 25 to Sunday, April 27

Here are some helpful tips to ensure you can still enjoy the library’s services during this time:

  • Plan accordingly and visit on weekdays or weeknights
  • Select another location as your pick-up option when placing holds
  • Visit any of our other three locations:
      • Main Library (35 Albert St.)
      • John M. Harper Branch (500 Fischer-Hallman Rd. N.)
      • McCormick Branch (500 Parkside Dr.)

We appreciate your patience during this busy time and look forward to welcoming both our regular customers and new visitors to the library. If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to contact us.
